Training Tips We Came Across

Barbara picked up a great magazine, Experience Life at her acupuncturist and there were a couple of articles that we found helpful for our training. This is an excellent magazine geared for training and living a healthy life. The tagline is "Healthy. Happy. For Real." Fortunately, each issue is available online.

The copy Barbara picked up is the May 2006 issue. I recommend the following articles in particular, though the entire magazine is very good -

A Comment About Commenting

When letting others know that you'll be going for a run, swim, or bike ride, please protect yourself and be discrete! Here is what I mean -

Don't do this: I"ll be going for a run around Green Lake at 6:30 am this Wednesday. If you want to join me meet me at the boat rental shack. Phyllis

Do do this instead: I'll be going for a run on Wednesday. If you'd like to join me, post a comment saying so and we'll get in touch. Phyllis

Never leave your contact information or the location and time online. Why? Because a person who would do you harm may surf the web and find your comment and meet up with you. Much better to connect with people you know and already you have their contact information for.

If you are outside our group and don't know one of the members, then send an email to crosspointtraining@gmail.com and let us know a little about yourself.

Welcome To Cross Training!

On behalf of the Cross Training group, I want to welcome you to our blog. We are a small group of people with a variety of goals for our training. There are those who haven't done any physical exercise in years and some who have been competing for awhile. Some of us are young and single, some of us have teenage children, and some are in between. Wherever you are in life and in your exercise/training goals, you will fit into our group.

We plan to link to a web-based calendar to track regular training meetings and will also provide posting so that we can let each other know when and where we will be training. From time to time there may also be posts with information about events, nutrition, and other training tips.

We hope you find this useful and informative.
